My dog is sick
Apr. 20th, 2012 08:30 amA few days ago, around Easter we noticed Giubica isn't eating much. Which from the start was an alarm signal cause he usually eats like an elephant. We just figured since it was Easter and he ate a lot of stuff, he was full, or maybe something he ate made him a little nauseous or something.
Some days later he started losing weight and not eating at all and we started to get really worried since we couldn't actually take him anywhere considering that all vet clinics were closed for Easter.
We heard him sneezing and coughing and then we figured out that something was definitely wrong with him.
Yesterday we took him to the vet, and it turns out he has a viral infection which is lethal for dogs if not treated. They said we were lucky we caught it so soon, but even so his chances are only 70%. He has to go through a 5 day intensive perfusions treatment (3 hours/day) and then we're gonna move to stage two of the treatment.
It's gonna be long and expensive, but we're willing to do anything to see the little guy back on his feet.
Yesterday he was really good and brave at the vet. He didn't cry when they put the perfusion in, or when he had to have the fever shots. Today we're going again, 3 more hours of just sitting there beside him.
God I hope everything will turn out fine and that he recovers from this.
